LifeGel for spheroidal growth of mesenchymal stem cells is the product consisting of 96-well plate covered by the LifeGel in the presence of a cell culture medium or PBS. There are two mains options of this product: standard and customized.

LifeGel is not a single hydrogel for three-dimensional (3D) cell culture - it is a technology platform.
Product is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

Techniques applicable for use with LifeGel
1. Imaging
2. Long term cell culture – e.g. three weeks
3. Easy cell harvesting due to simple to use enzymatic LifeGel Digestion Kit
for: cell passaging, cell counting or any other experiments
where these cell will be necessary
4. Cell imaging with equipment like for example: JULI Stage, Celloger
or Opera Phoenix
5. Readout your assay on standard plate reader
for example measure viability with Cell Titer Blue or Cell Titer Glo 3D
6. IHC (Immunohistochemistry)
7. Compatible with standard automatic pipetting equipment

Options
LifeGel for spheroidal growth of MSC is available in a standard 96-well plate.
All LifeGels (including LifeGel for spheroidal growth of MSC) are available in standard cell culture medium: RPMI, DMEM High Glucose, DMEM Low Glucose, DMEM/F-12, alpha-MEM, or in PBS. If you use a different cell culture medium we recommend buying the version with PBS and incubating the hydrogel with the right medium 2 hours before starting a cell culture. If you want to buy the LifeGel in a customized cell culture medium please contact us.
Based on our many years of experience we have selected one type of hydrogel that is suitable for spheroidal growth of mesenchymal stem cells – STANDARD TYPE for MSC of LifeGel: LifeGel for spheroidal growth of MSC.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are multipotent adult stem cells, present in multiple tissues – including bone marrow, umbilical cord, and amniotic fluid. MSCs cells can differentiate in multiple tissues including bone, muscle, and fat cells, connective tissue, and cartilage.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are one the most frequently used cells in regenerative medicine – a large number of studies have shown the beneficial effects of MSC-based therapies to treat different diseases.
Why 3D cell culture of MSCs?
Mesenchymal Stem Cells seeded on the surface of LifeGel for spheroidal growth of MSC can form three-dimensional (3D) structures, like spheroids. By culturing MSCs on LifeGel for spheroidal growth of MSC, you can better imitate the environment that occurs in a living organism than in standard 2D culture.
